​Beth Sholom Temple is led full-time by Rabbi Michael Weinstein, who joined BST in July this year, 2015. Rabbi Weinstein and family hail from Cincinnati, OH, originally, and from the greater Atlanta, GA, area more recently. Rabbi Weinstein holds degrees from UC, HUC, and Xavier University, and before becoming a Rabbi, worked within his faith through volunteering and teaching. His wife is currently in studies to become a full time Cantor and will serve BST as our Cantorial Intern. Our Cantor Intern

Cantor Soloist Laurie Weinstein joined the BST Family with her husband, Rabbi Weinstein, in July of 2015. She has a Bachelor of Music in Music History with a Voice Concentration (2005) from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. She also studied on the graduate level at Hebrew College in Newton Massachusetts. She is a member of the American Conference of Cantors and the Guild of Temple Musicians. She has been serving Jewish communities as a soloist and B'nai Mitzvah tutor for over 10 years. A Cincinnati native, Laurie has lived in Jerusalem, Boston, and Atlanta. She has served in multiple capacities for Isaac M. Wise Temple in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Temple Beth Elohim, Wellesley, Massachusetts. Laurie is most proud of her work with mentor, Cantor Hollis Schachner, and Rabbi Neal Gold, while at Temple Shir Tikva, in Wayland, Massachusetts. There, she shawdowed Cantor Schachner and eventually served the community while the Cantor was on Sabbatical. Previously, she served Congregation Dor Tamid in Atlanta as Cantor Intern and as Cantorial Soloist at Rockdale Temple in Cincinnati and Beth Boruk Temple in Richmond, Indiana. BST held an official welcome for her in her new role as our Cantor Intern in October of 2015. She is currently in studies at Hebrew Union College, to become a full-time Cantor She leads music and prayer at Beth Sholom during most Shabbat services. To get in touch with her, please email
