High Holy Day Prayer Books for Donation

BST still has several copies of the red covered HHDs prayer books from the old site. Many of the books have nameplates in them wherein families dedicated books in honor or memory of loved ones, friends, members of the shul, etc. If you are interested in having one or more of these books, or would like to locate one with your family’s nameplate, please feel free to stop by BST during the work week, or take a look on the weekend during Religious School. Books are located in the storage closet behind the bimah.

Adult Education

Learn to Read Hebrew

We offer a Hebrew course for adults, using the same Hebrew Through Prayer curriculum used by our younger students.  While the kids cover the material in four years, adults go through it in two years.  By the end, you will be able to not only read Hebrew, but you will know the meaning behind many of the prayers said during services, as well as basic vocabulary.  It is not a conversational Hebrew course but rather one that will allow you to participate in and even lead a service.

The adult class takes place on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. typically between September and May. Tuition is $50 for members and $75 for non-members per semester.

Weekly Torah Study

Join the congregation in the weekly Torah Study on most Saturday mornings! During this time, the congregation noshes on small treats (congregant sponsored) and studies the weekly Torah portion for the first half hour and then continues the journey through the Hebrew Bible for the second hour.

Everyone is welcome to attend.  There is no charge for this study group.

Be sure to check the calendar weekly to see if there will be Torah Study.
