Mid-Year Meeting Highlights

Thank you to all who attended the Mid-Year Congregational Meeting held on January 27th and February 2nd. We tried something new this year: we held the meeting in two different sessions to encourage attendance by members who have busy schedules.

  • Jim Swanson, Vice President Administration, provided an update on our security situation that has been assessed and updated since the shootings at Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh. He reviewed the changes we’ve implemented, our excellent relationship with local & federal law enforcement, and future improvements we are considering.
  • Rob Jobrack, President of the Board, provided an overview of the congregational status, including the things that are going well and the areas for improvement.
  • The congregation voted to amend the constitution to eliminate some standing committees and assign these functions to the cognizant Board member. The specific standing committees that will be removed with this amendment are:

Archives

Bulletin

Directory

Jewish Charitable Giving

Library

  • The congregation voted to change our dues guidelines by increasing the recommended commitment by 15% for each membership category. Our policy on dues remains the same: each member determines the amount they can pay each year to support the congregation. The increased guidelines better reflect the revenue needed to operate the congregation.
